No one will mistake the Chicago River for the mighty Mississippi, but our urban waterway is more scenic than it gets credit for. The northern edge of Albany Park contains one of the river`s lovelier stretches, a lazy ramble through forested residential areas. Its banks are often populated with reflective students from the neighborhood`s two small colleges, North Park and Northeastern Illinois Universities.
Further south, Albany Park offers a diverse range of eating and entertainment options. Side streets are generally quiet and residential, populated by a mix of new comers and long-time Albany Parkers.
