DePaul
Named for the massive, 1000-acre city park that makes up its eastern border, this is one of Chicago's best known and most populated neighborhoods. The park itself is and endless font of entertainment, housing a zoo, a golf driving range, multiple sports fields and miles of running paths. Residences here range from vintage Victorians to mid-range condos to towering high-rises, with a wide range of people and pets occupying those spaces.
One of the city's best options for nightlife, Lincoln Park contains a seemingly limitless roster of bars, clubs and trendy restaurants. It's also home to the legendary comedy breeding ground known as Second City, the genesis of more Saturday Night Live cast members than you'd think ever existed. In the daylight hours, residents can cruise coffee shops, hip boutiques and big-name chain stores to their hearts' content. Don't let the horrible thrash-rap band of the same name fool you - Lincoln Park is where it's at.
